I just discovered bitcloud[1]

yet another project reinventing the p2p cloud wheel
but, I do like the idea of payment/credit system

Financial incentives seem to have done well for Bitcoin and other altcoins, so it makes since to do something like Freenet with a similar structure. But AFAIK, they don't have a credible way to track bandwidth peer to peer.  With out that, it seems like it will never work.

there are credit/Incentive based systems for mesh networks:

S. Zhong, J. Chen, and Y. Yang, “Sprite: A Simple, Cheat-proof, Credit-
based System for Mobile Ad-hoc Networks,” Proc. of IEEE Infocom’03,
2003.
S. Zhong, L. Li, Y. Liu and Y. Yang, “On Designing Incentive-compatible
Routing and Forwarding Protocols in Wireless Ad-hoc Networks” Wire-
less Networks, Vol. 13, pages 799–816, 2007.

but they need a node that that handle all the transactions witch is a faulty model now that we have bitcoin
but bitcoin dose not work in a dtn/MANET network
